My Thoughts:
Welcome one and all to my stop on this tour for ‘All The Little Children’ by the brilliant Jo Furniss.
Be prepared for a non stop ride from start to finish; thrills, mystery and in the end a story about family, no matter what.
There are no fuzzy introductions, no back story to ease you in, you are dropped in the deep end. Despite the ubrupt beginning I found the story quickly established itsself. The main character Marlene Greene handles being flung into a post apocalyptic world the way any of us probably would, by any means nessesery. There are lots of children in this story and I liked how this didn’t shy away from difficult situations and the outcome of them.
If you like descriptive stories then this has enough for all of you, I like listening and watching the story in my head and well described scenes such as the ones found here make it a joy.
The narrator for this fine tale is Fiona Hardingham, a new name to me but gave each character life, both young and old. With great voice distinction you soon got to know each character like they were sitting with you.
My only wish would be to know a bit more of the back story of the main characters, but if that’s all I have then I cannot complain.
It has been great to be a part of this tour, so if you are wanting to experience the apocalypse from a slightly different angle then this will definitely be one for you.
